Sources of Food and Income

Donations of food and money come from churches, individuals, grants, food drives, and community orgranizations.

Gleanings are good, useable, food salvaged from local merchants.

The Bemidji Community Food Shelf (BCFS) also purchases food from North Country Food Bank at $0.14 to $0.17 per pound (which stretches any monetary donation). This food is donated by major food producers in Minnesota and nationwide in cooperation with Minnesota Food Share.
