PINEWOOD FIRE TOWER |

Saving the Pinewood Fire Tower is the combined work of the Beltrami County Agricultural Association, (Beltrami County Fair Grounds) the Minnesota Chapter of the Forest Fire Lookout Association and the Zeller Family of Blackduck in memory of Mark Zeller, fire tower preservationist. |

The Beltrami County Fair grounds now has the fire tower standing on site. The move was completed on July 28, 2005. This will give the fair grounds a DNR anchor point and save an era that has gone by. |

THE FIRE TOWER WILL BE OPEN FOR CLIMBING FROM 12PM TO 8PM DURING FAIR WEEK.
ONLY FOUR PERSONS ARE ALLOWED ON THE FIRE TOWER AT ONE TIME, AND TO HELP WITH THIS, WE WILL HAVE THE ASSISTANCE OF THE CIVIL AIR PATROL (CAP)
WE WILL ALSO HAVE A FIRE TOWER PRESENTATION IN THE PINEWOOD TENT NEXT TO THE FIRE TOWER, ALONG WITH ITEMS FOR SALE, PATCHES, POSTCARDS, HATS AND THE NEW WESTERN FIRE TOWER COOK BOOK.
WE WILL ALSO HAVE SAMPLE FOODS FROM THE COOK BOOK FOR YOU TO TRY.
DO NOT CLIMB IF:
1.I t is raining. 2. The wind is blowing at 30mph or above. 3. There are four (4) persons on the tower. 4. You are under 45lbs 5. You are under the height marker by the gate. 6. You are under the age of 9 7. You over the age of 101. (smile)
NO MORE THAN 4 PERSONS ON THE FIRE TOWER AT ONE TIME. |
