Due to increased requests for the AARP Driver Safety Class additional instructors
are being recruited. 

Bemidji Senior Center houses the AARP Driver Safety Program.  This is a classroom refresher course designed especially for motorists age 50 and older who have years of driving experience.   

First time participants are required take an 8-hour class which is held in two 4-hour sessions.  Persons who have previously taken the class may take a 4-hour renewal class.  Re-certification is necessary every 3 years. State law requires at least a 10% discount on insurance upon successful completion of the class.

This program is coordinated and taught by volunteers.  Training is provided to those interested in becoming an instructor.  Each instructor teaches classes that are workable with his schedule.
