Bemidji Figure Skating Club

Mentoring Program

The Bemidji Figure Skating Club Mentoring program is designed to give skaters an opportunity to gain experience in teaching as a volunteer within our own club. Requirements are as follows:

All applicants must be current BFSC/USFSA member. Must have
been a BFSC home club member no less than two years prior to applying.

     BASIC SKILLS:
               For skaters15 years or older who have passed Intermediate MIF and Juvenile
               Freestyle tests.

Mentor under coach for Snow Plow Sam, Basic Skills 1 - 6, MIF, Freestyle-
Dance 1 - 3, Fantasy on Ice, Junior Advanced.

Sessions to coincide with BFSC schedule.

Application to head coach and BFSC Board of Governors.

     Junior Advance:
            For skaters 16 years or older who have passed Intermediate MIF and Intermediate
               Freestyle tests. Must have passed Pre-Silver Dance to teach Jr. Advanced Dance.

Private Lessons:

· Freestyle For skaters 16 years or older who have passed Novice Freestyle and must have mentored in Basic Skills program at BFSC or have 1 year experience teaching Basic Skills at another location.

· Moves in Field For skaters 16 years or older who have passed Novice MIF and must have mentored in Basic Skills program at BFSC or have 1 year experience teaching Basic Skills at another location.

· Dance For skaters 16 years or older who have passed Pre-Silver Dance test and must have mentored in Basic Skills program at BFSC or have 1 year experience teaching Basic Skills at another location.

Mentor under BFSC approved private lesson coach and supervised by
head coach.

Sessions to coincide with BFSC schedule.

Application to head coach and BFSC Board of Governors.

Synchronized Skating:
Same as basic skills qualifications plus one year experience on a synchro team.
