BGC Board Meeting Minutes

 

October 10 , 2011

These minutes will be reviewed at the November meeting of the BGC board. Minor changes are possible at that time.

Attendees:
Pam Gregg, Sandy Allen, Brenda Mayer, Chris Corradi, Pam Tennyson, Sandy Hennum, Mistie Chamberlain, and Todd Hietala; Mary Allen from the Gym Bin

Absent:   Kelly Karger

Meeting brought to order by: Sandy Hennum

Approval of Minutes:
          Motion by Tennyson, second by Corradi: all approved September minutes as presented.

Treasurer’s Report:
          No corrections needed – Motion by to accept Treasurer’s report Gregg, second by Mayer, all in favor.

Old Business

Professional Photos:
Kelly contacted Enstrom Studios for pictures on November 17th.  Mary will set up a schedule for gymnasts, including high school and the other classes.
         
Candy Bar Sales:
          Candy Bar sales are going well.  There are already 3,000 bars out and approximately $600 has already been turned in.     

Cookbook Sales:
          Sandy Hennum stated she has given out $850 in cookbooks.  Some people are not willing to do the fundraising opportunities.  Discussion was held and families that choose not to participate will have to pay $50 to the BGC.  Requirements were stated during the annual meeting.

Sponsorship:
          Pam Tennyson reported that a large sponsor has declined our organization.  She believes sponsorship levels have and will drop.

High School Meet Concessions:
          Meets are scheduled for December 10th, 13th, and February 2nd.  At the present time, no one has volunteered to do concessions for the meets.  Sandy Allen and Pam Gregg will initiate the concession responsibilities and hopefully others will join.

Snow Flake Flip:
          This meet will be held on January 7th, 2012.  Registration fee will be $35 per gymnast.

Pictures for Paper:
          Paula Howard will assist in taking pictures for the paper after each meet.  The Pioneer stated that if everything is in on time, the articles will appear in the Sunday paper.

Other:
          Pam Gregg gave information on the Perkins Pies.  If we choose to do this fundraiser, we can earn $2-$3 per pie.  We are not responsible in handling any money and it is of no cost to the BGC.  Sandy Allen made a motion to move forward with this option of fundraising, Tennyson second:  all in favor.

          Mary has had people approach her about purchasing the Team Bags.  The cost is approximately $36 if they would like to purchase the new style bags.

Gym Bin Olympics:
          The Olympics will be held on October 22nd.  Starting approximately 9 a.m. and lasting all day.   It will be the bees, then fitness exercises, and the meet will be the last session of the day.  Concessions will be available and there will be an announcer. Admissions will be $5 per adult and $8 per family.

News & Bills:
          There is an issue on some of the competitive leos and sizing.  We will be doing a little of investigating and issues will be addressed with GK.

Paula Howard asked about a team roster available for all gymnasts and their parents.  Information will be sent out for omitting their information from the master list that will be available for parents.

Pam Gregg will update the volunteer hours after the meeting and post when complete.
