The Crew Has Arrived!
Through many miles of hostile territory they lost nary a man ...BUT... they now reside in the local hoosegow! I am surprised they had the chutzpah to even show up here at the main ranch house. How they thought they could collect their paltry wages when they lost/stole/ate every doggie in the entire herd I'll never understand! Not even the smell of a critter arrived with them. They will be incarcerated for LIFE if I have anything to say about it and I'll be certain to get them recorded in the local NiCE County courthouse records so that future generations will have everything documented. Maybe we should be looking for a sturdy Cottenwood tree down in the coolie... we have plenty of new rope!

Turtles Don't Have Much Luggage!
I had a talk with "Myrtle" and she is already packed and ready to go. She will leave in the morning, and while she is not known for being a "fast" lady, it is down hill and hopefully she will arive by the weekend. She is a beautiful lady with a great sense of humor... always has a smile on her face. Please enjoy and thank you for your support.

After We Stopped Laughing!
I buy hobo nickels with my thirteen year old daughter. We look at lots of them. We focus on the ones that make us smile but only buy the ones that make us laugh. We've been checking them out for a couple of years now... ocassionally at shows and on the internet. We have bought about ten so far. When we saw Myrtle... after we stopped laughing ...we both immediately realized she was in a class all by herself. Was it her mother or her father who was from the Galopagos Islands?

Alice and her cleaning equipment!
The broom and shovel are now and for ever more going to be with "Al". They are inseparable. The baby racoons are just lovely. May I say Cliff, in my sincere opinion, I believe that you are the one that is capturing the essence and aura of the creatures that you carve. I personally believe that in the future when this style of art is discovered by the masses you will be recorded as the most feeling of your subject. I also think it is time for eBay and others to seperate hobo nickels from "modern art works" carvings.

Absolutely ASTOUNDING!
I can't wait to surprise my wife with the finished artwork. And this IS an artwork of the first order! I am really impressed. The outline is perfect, the way the feet are is perfect, the head outline, ears (they look a bit "thin" and "segmented" to me in your JPG, but that must be due to the original designs "below" that are yet to be worked out), the tail-less rump, the chest and belly curvature, the nice textured background, etc. Bravo! Only one concern... there appears to be a depression or semicircular line below the eye, running from under the eye to the bridge of the nose; can that line be removed or muted? Also, can the eye be moved a half millimeter left, closer to the bridge of the nose? (If not, no big thing at all). Otherwise, as the French say, MAGNIFIQUE! Thanks for taking this on... it's a jewel.
