Travis feels that his most important sponsor is his family.   Travis has been happily married to his wife Janet for ten years.  Ironically, (or maybe not so surprising), Janet’s maiden name is none other than “Fish” and she is a real keeper!  Janet assists Travis with promotional projects and helps him prepare for his next outdoor endeavor.  Travis and Janet have two sons, Jace and Kade, and a daughter, Brynn.

They are dad’s biggest fans and often accompany the “family man” on pre-fishing days and on the tournament stage.

Travis’ father, Duane Peterson is a former Minnesota B.A.S.S. Federation State Champion.  As a youngster, Travis’ bass angling skills were cultivated through hours in the boat with Duane.  Duane continues to fish competitively and is Travis’ travel partner and roommate on the tournament scene.   More importantly, he is Travis’ teammate, as “Team Peterson” works together to formulate tournament patterns.  Travis’ mom, Jeanne deserves as much credit for all the lunches she

has packed over the  years!  In addition, Travis’ brother Craig, is a frequent tournament partner and an expert bass fisherman.   One can imagine the usual topic of conversation at family get-togethers!   Travis also credits his uncle John Peterson for teaching him about the great sport of angling.  As president of NorthlandFishing Tackle, John has designed numerous nationally recognized lures.  He understands that a quality product applied in the right location under

the right conditions is the key to catching fish of all species. Consider the fact that John has won a Muskies Inc. National Tournament, a Professional Walleye Trail Tournament, and numerous regional bass tournaments, all by employing Northland Fishing Tackle.  John’s list of accomplishments in the fishing world landed him in the initial  class of the Minnesota Fishing Hall of Fame.
In addition, Travis is supported by a number of industry leaders.  He represents these companies on the tournament trail and other fishing related endeavors.
